How do I sign in to Clasio?
Sign in with Google or Apple. On mobile, download the Clasio AI app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android coming soon). Getting started takes less than 10 seconds. Click 'Sign In' and choose your account. No passwords to create, no email verification, no complex forms.
How do I add documents to Clasio?
Four ways: (1) Upload Files, (2) Upload Folders (Clasio preserves your entire folder structure, including nested subfolders, and analyzes every document inside for Intelligence insights, Needs Attention alerts, and search), (3) Snap with your phone camera, (4) Import from Google Drive. Supports PDFs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, images, text files, and CSVs. Free: 100 documents, 1 GB storage. Pro ($9.99/mo): 5,000 documents, 25 GB storage. Maximum 100MB per file.
How does Clasio help me find information in my documents?
You shouldn't have to remember exact filenames or open five PDFs just to find your EIN. Search for 'EIN' and Clasio gives you the answer directly: 'Your EIN is 12-3456789' with the source document linked. Search works the way you think. Type 'passport expiration' and we find your passport even if those exact words aren't in the filename.
Can I search across all my documents at once?
Yes! Every search looks across your entire document library automatically. No need to remember which folder you filed something in. Search for 'Acme contract' and we'll find it whether the document says 'contract,' 'agreement,' or just has 'Acme Corp' in the header. Our AI tags everything during upload.
What intelligence does Clasio extract from my documents?
When you upload a document, Clasio automatically extracts: AI-generated title (readable name instead of scan_20250108.pdf), summary (2-3 sentence overview), classification (document category and type with confidence scores), key topics (relevant subject tags), key intelligence (important facts, entities, amounts, dates), word count, and full searchable content.
What are Needs Attention alerts?
Clasio monitors your documents for upcoming deadlines, expiring policies, overdue items, and other time-sensitive events. The Needs Attention section on your Home tab shows cards for items that need action in the next 60 days, sorted by urgency. Red cards mean 7 days or less. Amber cards mean further out. The Free plan shows the first five items; Pro shows all of them. On iOS you can also receive push notifications for upcoming deadlines.
What's the difference between search and Ask Clasio?
Search finds documents. Ask Clasio answers questions. Search runs across document titles, summaries, topics, and extracted intelligence to find relevant documents quickly. When what you type is a question, Ask Clasio answers it automatically: Gemini reads the text of the most relevant documents and returns a specific answer with links to the sources. You can also open any document and use Ask This Document.

What happens when I reach 100 documents?
You can still read, search, and ask questions about your existing documents. You just can't upload new ones until you upgrade to Pro or delete some documents. Your data is never deleted because of a limit.
Can I cancel Pro? What happens to my documents?
Cancel anytime from the subscription management portal (in your account menu). Pro access continues until the end of your billing period. After that, you're on the Free tier. Your documents stay intact. You can still read and search everything. You just can't upload beyond 100 documents or see more than 5 insights until you re-subscribe.

Who is Clasio for?

Do my documents train AI models?
Never. Your documents never train any AI model. Clasio uses Google's Gemini API on the paid tier, which doesn't use your content to improve Google's products. Clasio keeps your files, their text, and the intelligence it extracts so it can search and answer questions, and you can delete any of it at any time.
Where is my data stored and how is it protected?
Your documents live in Google Cloud Storage with enterprise-grade security: encrypted at rest and in transit, time-limited access URLs (1-hour expiry), every query scoped to your account, and server-side credentials only. We built this security architecture like we're storing our own tax returns, because we are.
How does deletion work?
When you delete a document, it moves to Trash. Trash is emptied automatically after 7 days, or right away if you empty it yourself, and then both the file and all its metadata are permanently erased from the database and cloud storage. You can delete documents one at a time or use 'Delete All' in the menu.
What AI model do you use?
We use Google's Gemini models through the Gemini API's paid tier: Gemini 2.5 Flash-Lite analyzes documents and answers questions, and Gemini 2.5 Flash rewrites searches that found nothing and finds insights across documents. All AI calls are server-side with no client-exposed API keys.
How does Clasio pay for all this? What's the catch?
There's no catch. You are not the product. Clasio pays real infrastructure costs for every document you upload: AI analysis (Gemini API calls), cloud storage (Google Cloud Storage), database (PostgreSQL), compute resources (Cloud Run), and search infrastructure. We don't sell your data. We don't show ads. We don't train AI models on your documents. We offer a generous Free tier and a Pro subscription ($9.99/month) to cover these costs. How is Clasio different from Google's File Search API?
Google File Search is a developer API for building custom applications. You build the entire UI, authentication, and business logic yourself. Clasio is a complete ready-to-use platform with AI-powered classification (11 folders), 6-dimensional intelligence extraction, specialized query resolvers, grouping by the people and properties you track, and direct answers instead of document lists. The analogy: Google File Search is like buying flour and eggs. Clasio is like ordering a custom cake that shows up decorated and ready to serve.
How does the search system work?
Clasio runs keyword search and semantic search in parallel across your entire library. The keyword engine searches 11 fields (titles, summaries, topics, classifications, entities, dates, and more). The semantic engine uses AI embeddings to find conceptually similar documents even when you don't use exact words. If keyword search finds nothing, fuzzy matching catches typos, and if the whole search finds nothing, Gemini rewrites the query and Clasio tries again. Results are merged with dynamic weighting and each one explains why it matched. When your search is a question, Ask Clasio reads the most relevant documents and answers it with links to the sources.
Does Clasio work on mobile?
Yes. Download Clasio AI from the App Store (iOS). Android is coming soon to Google Play. The iOS app includes push notifications for Needs Attention alerts, camera document scanning, and the full Clasio experience. You can also use Clasio on any mobile browser at clasio.ai.
How can I verify Clasio's security claims?
We encourage technical due diligence. Run these verification tests: data deletion cascade verification (upload then delete a test doc), access control testing (inspect network requests for time-limited signed URLs), encryption-in-transit verification (all API traffic uses HTTPS/TLS 1.2+), multi-tenancy isolation testing (create multiple accounts to verify no cross-contamination), and AI model data usage audit (we use Gemini Paid Tier 3 which guarantees no training on your data).
What happens to my Google Drive files?
Clasio uses Google's limited drive.file scope to copy only the files you explicitly choose. Your original Google Drive files remain completely untouched. We don't modify, delete, or sync changes back. You can disconnect Drive access anytime from Google Account settings or within Clasio.
How does folder organization work?
Clasio uses AI to automatically organize documents into 11 high-level folders (Tax & Compliance, Financial & Accounting, Legal & Contracts, Insurance, Identity & Records, Medical & Health, Property & Real Estate, Business & Corporate, HR & Employment, Projects & Work, Personal & Family) with automatic subfolders. AI determines the folder and subfolder during upload. The vast majority of classifications are accurate, but you can always edit them if needed.
